The lower part of the jewellery is flattened, while the upper end is closed with a threaded ball (a labret / stud therefore consists of a rod with a small plate and a ball). The thread of the stud is externally threaded, its ball can be screwed onto the external thread. In addition, the flattened back of the plate has a ceramic coating that is gentle on the enamel and gums. This is a very robust ceramic, similar to that used in dentistry. The material does not stain, is very scratch and break resistant and can also be sterilised. To date, we are not aware of any cases in which the ceramic has chipped or broken. Incidentally, all threads in our jewellery collections are standardised so that you can combine the rings, balls, rods and attachments with each other! .
